Why seek therapy?

Things happen and life can be very hard. Therapy is a safe place where you can talk about whatever is going on in your life, and it is all about you! In therapy you can learn healthy coping skills, how to build self esteem and confidence, manage your anger, get over troubles of the past, and many other things. You can work with your therapist to figure out the best ways to help you live the best life you can. Plus, don’t we all want a space to say whatever we want, completely free of judgement?  Therapy can be that for you.

Why Therapeutic Healing Journey?

Finding the right therapist can often be difficult and time consuming. You have to make sure that you connect with them and trust them, and that they are the best person to help you with whatever you need. My hope is that I can be that person for you. I am compassionate, caring, honest, and here to help whoever comes my way. However, I am not naïve, and know  that maybe I am not that person. In the event that I am not the right person for you, I will help you find another therapist who will hopefully be good for you.

At THJ the services offered include online therapy sessions. Who doesn’t love the convenience of not having to leave your home in this busy society we live in?

How is THJ helping curb the spread of Covid-19?

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, I am not seeing any clients in-person to decrease risk of transmission. All of my appointments are done through secure telehealth platforms.

What is teletherapy/online therapy?

Teletherapy, also called online therapy, is therapy done using a video-based web system. THJ utilizes a secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal and Google Meets through G-suite for video sessions. What this allows is for you to video chat with me from the comfort of your own home, or even your car on your lunch break. Video chats grant a convenience that traditional office visits don’t because they are offered at the same rate, covered by most insurances, and take away the time for travel that traditional therapy requires.

How does insurance work?

Insurance: this is a fun one! Luckily for you, I strive to make it as simple as possible for my clients. During our free initial phone consultation I will gather your insurance information. Once we are done with the call I will look up your insurance and let you know what your copay and/or deductible are. I will also provide you with a detailed understanding of what these both mean, in order to make sure that you are 100% aware of what the charges will be during our time together, so there will be no surprises! If at any time during our work together there is an insurance issue, we will work together to get it figured out.

Who is able to receive therapy at Therapeutic Healing Journey?

Anyone from age 18 to 65.

How do I know if I would benefit from therapy?

Are you someone who wishes you had someone to talk to? Have you had troubling life experiences? Are there questions you don’t know how to answer?  Then you would benefit! Therapy can help anyone who allows themselves to be helped. Sometimes we just need help coping with life’s problems; sometimes bigger things happen and we just need someone to turn to to process or talk about things sometimes there are times where life just kicks our butts and we really need to have a place that is safe for us to pour our hearts out. I can offer you that place, and be that someone, for whatever you need.

Do Therapeutic Healing Journey therapists work with court related cases?

Apologies, I do not! We do not do court evaluations or testify in court for any client or any purposes. I can refer you to agencies that do if you would like.
